I said people have turned the internet into cable TV about 10 years ago now. Now its more akin to satellite tv where you have to pay for every channel you want. A far cry from the information superhighway we were promised.

I still have a computer with Windows XP, which, I believe, was the only Windows edition worth its salt. Many years ago, I discovered Linux, and use that for everything except the two programs I must have which will only use Windows. As far as I am concerned, Windows is strictly crap.

One issue I've run into is PSU in basement sizing. If the case has a basement and you have hard drive rack there + PSU, it can get very cramped. I tried getting a smaller PSU when I replaced the one I had but cable length wouldn't work for me, so still had to get a full size PSU or replace all the cables with longer ones... wasn't ideal.

When I was building my current PC in Jan-Feb 2020 (in the weeks before COVID shut everything down), my biggest space constraint was the space under my desk where I'd always kept my PC towers. I measured that space, and read the dimensions in case specs to find a case that would fit. There were only so many cases at Micro Center that weren't too long or too tall -- and grand total of _two_ still had a 5¼" front drive bay for an optical drive. Everything else then had to fit in the one case I picked -- and a salesperson at Micro Center was pretty helpful with that, steering me toward shorter graphics cards that also fit my budget. (I saved my receipt just in case -- and thankfully everything fit just fine!) And now as I consider a future a graphics card upgrade, I'll probably be looking at card length again -- and again will keep my receipt in case it doesn't fit.

Had to buy server style heat spreaders for my ram sticks because the default "gamer" ones got in the way of a cpu heat sink fan, which prevented me from closing the case.

Dude forgot to add Windows Vista after XP... Thus making windows 8 as 10th windows edition.

Also keep in mind that just because the case says your gpu will fit, does not mean you wont have to remove a front fan to make it happen.

Why does no one talk about charging current? I specifically use an old 1A charger (I used to have an 850mA but it died), and only use a 2A or the included _fancy_ fast charger unless I absolutely need it. Not once have I ever woken up and not had the battery at 100%, and the lower current puts much less strain on the battery. This is only my experience of course, but I've done this with my current phone since I bought it, more than 3 years ago, and the battery still works perfectly. I would love to see the capacity loss with various charging currents over the years actually be scientifically tested, though.

When I first saw the port said PS/2 I was mind-blown and thinking how can I possibly connect my PlayStation 2 to my PC for months and what does it do.

Ccleaner is a must for me. It genuinely keeps my pc feeling fast and regularly gets rid of junk and trackers. I also use the professional version to easily keep all my drivers up to date. 11/10 would recommend.
